The How To

Home made burgers are great. They are tasty and you can get as creative as you want to with the condiments you want to use.

Take the mince and place in a mixing bowl. Add half the onion peeled and diced finely. Add a pinch of salt and white pepper. Finely grate the carrot and add half to your beef mince mix in the bowl. Next crack the egg and combine all the ingredients together - mix well.

Make six balls for mixture. Take each ball and one-by-one flatten into patties.

For the salad wash the lettuce and then dry with a paper towel. Place in a bowl and add the remaining half of the grated carrot. Peel the beetroot and finely grate then add to the salad. Dice the feta cheese in small blocks and mix into the salad.

Peel and slice mushrooms lengthways. Cut the remaining onion into thin slices. Heat a frying pan and add the olive oil. Put in the onion and mushrooms and stir until starting to get a brown caramelised outside. Remove and add beef patties. Cook until both sides are brown and caramalised.

Slice your buns in half and place a small layer of salad on the bottom bun. Next place a patty on top and then a generous handful of salad on top and put the top half of the burger bun on top. Repeat for the remaining burgers. Plate up and enjoy.
